Job Overview

Oversee, manage, and report on the activities of all maintenance staff for the designated Business Unit and shift, prioritizing safety and collaborating with production teams to reduce downtime. Coordinate all predictive and preventative maintenance initiatives to ensure timely execution. Ensure that any contractors working within the designated Business Unit and shift adhere to all Dana standards. Foster a collaborative environment to support manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise Dana employees and contract personnel engaged in the repair and upkeep of mechanical and electrical components, equipment, and machinery, adhering to designs, diagrams, operating manuals, and specifications while following all safety protocols.
  • Assist in analyzing downtime to enhance operational uptime and develop effective preventive and predictive maintenance strategies.
  • Collaborate closely with the Area Manager and Scheduler to prioritize tasks based on production requirements.
  • Guide team members in analyzing and troubleshooting machinery issues, aiding in problem resolution and establishing corrective actions.
  • Participate in daily operational meetings, providing updates on all key performance indicators.
  • Maintain an Open Issues list and drive all matters to resolution.
  • Create and interpret work orders and specifications to prioritize tasks and assign responsibilities to ensure timely and accurate project completion.
  • Accurately manage all payroll-related duties for direct reports on a daily and weekly basis.
  • Ensure the maintenance area adheres to 5S principles.
  • Ensure all maintenance staff properly clean their work areas upon completion of tasks.
  • Maintain various records regarding ordered parts, maintenance time, safety, and other relevant elements.
  • Uphold procedures and systems related to preventive maintenance, plant upkeep, and overall manufacturing operations.
  • Evaluate the skills and staffing levels of each team member and work to enhance necessary skills. Complete all Talent Management assignments related to goal setting and performance reviews.
  • Assist the Maintenance Manager and/or Area Manager with budget planning as needed.
  • Engage in problem-solving teams and assign maintenance technicians to teams as required.
  • Develop bills of materials, budgets, and schedules for various maintenance projects.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned by supervisors and management.
Required/Preferred Education & Experience:
  • Understanding of maintenance processes and techniques through a Bachelor’s degree program, relevant apprenticeship, or equivalent work experience.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in a manufacturing setting.
