Position Overview

We are currently seeking a Custodian to support a school district in Warren, MI. This role is vital to maintaining a clean and safe environment for students and staff.

Work Schedule:

Day and Afternoon Shifts (Full-time)

Available Shifts:

6:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.

2:30 p.m. - 11:00 p.m.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform cleaning and maintenance of designated areas within the school premises.

• Conduct inspections and minor repairs on heating, cooling, and electrical systems.

• Change air filters and maintain custodial equipment.

• Care for school grounds, including mowing, watering, and snow removal.

• Prepare athletic fields and gym floors, assisting with equipment maintenance.

• Set up and clean up for special events and community functions.

• Assist with cafeteria tasks and maintain the security of the building.

• Stock supplies and assist with inventory management.

• Support school personnel with various requests and errands.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent.

• Minimum of three months of relevant experience or a combination of education and experience.

• Certification in district custodial training is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Proficient in reading, writing, and basic math.

• Understanding of cleaning and sanitation protocols.

• Familiarity with emergency procedures and MSDS.

• Ability to operate and repair small to medium equipment.

Physical Requirements:

This position requires heavy work, including the ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force frequently. The role involves various physical activities such as lifting, climbing, and standing for extended periods.

Salary: $16-$18 per hour
