Position Overview:

The Facility Maintenance Attendant is responsible for performing cleaning and maintenance tasks within designated areas, ensuring a clean and welcoming environment for residents and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive daily assignments from the Housekeeping Supervisor.
  • Ensure all lights are turned off in the building at the start of the day.
  • Utilize appropriate equipment when moving heavy items to prevent damage.
  • Maintain the main entrance and outdoor areas by removing debris and ensuring cleanliness.
  • Clean and sanitize restrooms throughout the facility.
  • Vacuum dining areas after meal services.
  • Manage waste disposal in all areas of the building.
  • Vacuum main hallways on scheduled days or as needed.
  • Address carpet cleaning and maintenance as required.
  • Replace light bulbs when necessary.
  • Assist residents with their needs as they arise.
  • Support furniture arrangements, lifting items up to 50 lbs.
  • Perform snow removal duties during winter months.
  • Water outdoor areas when the maintenance supervisor is unavailable.

Afternoon Shift Duties:

  • Secure designated doors at the end of the day and ensure all lights are turned off in common areas.
  • Complete kitchen cleaning tasks, including sweeping and mopping floors.
  • Conduct a final walkthrough of the facility to ensure cleanliness before leaving.
  • Perform nightly cleaning of dishwashing areas and ensure proper maintenance of kitchen equipment.
  • Regularly check and maintain drainage systems to prevent buildup.
  • Ensure all garbage cans are cleaned and sanitized nightly.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Physically capable of performing job duties.
  • Must pass a yearly health screening.
  • Familiarity with basic cleaning and maintenance practices is preferred.
