Job Overview
The Facilities Maintenance Manager oversees skilled trades personnel to achieve the goals of the maintenance division in a dynamic, high-volume, unionized manufacturing setting. The chosen candidate will manage safety, quality, delivery, cost, and team morale initiatives. Enhance throughput efficiency and coordinate both professional and emergency maintenance tasks. Provide guidance and support to team members (both hourly and supervisory) in applying World Class Manufacturing methodologies for effective problem resolution and corrective action execution.
Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a solid understanding of technical aspects related to maintenance, including time-based maintenance (TBM), condition-based maintenance (CBM), and dynamic maintenance (DM)
  • Impact key performance indicators (KPIs), mean time between failures (MTBF) of machinery and components, mean time to repair (MTTR), while ensuring equipment is maintained at optimal conditions and pursuing continuous improvement initiatives
  • Resolve throughput, run-to-run, and downtime challenges associated with equipment in a production context, supported by the Professional Maintenance Specialist (PMS) as necessary
  • Supervise skilled trades personnel directly
  • Collaborate with skilled trades staff to drive waste reduction initiatives through the implementation of World Class Manufacturing (WCM) principles; including Autonomous Maintenance (AM), Professional Maintenance (PM), Quality Maintenance (QM), Focus Improvement, and People Development (PD)
  • Actively engage and lead kaizen projects focused on enhancing Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE) and identifying waste reduction opportunities through cost deployment
Qualifications
  • Basic Qualifications:
    * High School Diploma or GED
    * At least 3 years of experience in industrial automation with project management exposure.
    * Flexibility to work any shift and overtime as needed
    * Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
    * Excellent interpersonal abilities to engage with various employee levels across the Plant, from hourly workers to Senior Leadership
    * Capability to foster effective business relationships with plant leadership and stakeholders
    * Proficiency in managing multiple projects concurrently
    * Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
    * Goal-oriented self-starter with leadership capabilities.
    * Experience in coaching, mentoring, and developing skilled trade personnel
    * Proficient in Microsoft Office
    100% onsite.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    * Bachelor's degree in a technical or engineering discipline
    * Familiarity with continuous improvement frameworks and lean manufacturing practices
    * Experience in leading maintenance teams within a unionized environment
    * Training in Green Belt/Red X/Six Sigma methodologies
    * Knowledge of controls, robotics, drives, system-level communication systems, sealing systems, glass cell systems, various conveyance systems, welding techniques, painting processes, and associated systems, as well as vision systems and sensor applications.
    * Understanding of World-Class Manufacturing pillar methodologies and their implementation
    * Competence in Google Suite software applications
