We are currently seeking a Billing Clerk who will:

Under the supervision of the Revenue Cycle Director, the Billing Clerk I will manage all aspects of billing and account follow-up, utilizing accepted billing methodologies to ensure thorough and consistent resolution of accounts, thereby supporting the financial stability of Clinica Sierra Vista.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver efficient and effective accounts receivable services to optimize reimbursement.
  • Accurately process billing for Medicare, Medi-Cal, self-pay/sliding fee, and commercial insurance claims in accordance with payer guidelines and CSV Billing Policies and Procedures.
  • Post patient payments and manage electronic and paper insurance remittances.
  • Rectify claim and charge discrepancies.
  • Conduct thorough research and resolve credit balances.
  • Respond to patient inquiries regarding their billing statements.
  • Assist in the collection of receivables by monitoring accounts, checking claim statuses, resubmitting overdue claims, filing corrected claims or appeals, and notifying supervisors of seriously overdue accounts.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with patients, payers, team members, and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure confidentiality of patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Perform additional projects related to billing, data entry, and computer operations as required.

Qualifications for Success:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in medical/dental billing, including knowledge of CPT and ICD10 coding.
  • Familiarity with the Epic practice management system is preferred.
  • Prior experience in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) or Rural Health Center (RHC) is advantageous.
  • Ability to perform accurate arithmetic computations.
  • Must comply with Clinica Sierra Vista's employee health/immunization requirements or submit a valid exemption request for approval.
