Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Office Assistant to join our team at Catholic Health Physicians Practices. As a Medical Office Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care by providing administrative support to our clinical team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepares exam rooms for use, ensuring they are stocked and disinfected according to protocol.
• Prepares patient charts with pre-visit planning, reviewing the next working day's schedule and identifying gaps in care.
• Escorts patients to exam rooms and directs patient flow for maximum efficiency.
• Collects and documents patient information, clinical data, and other relevant information, including vital signs, height/weight, allergies, active medication list, chief complaint, pain screen, and current symptoms.
• Obtains additional data from patients/significant others, EKG/lab/diagnostic test results, and other historical data, reporting findings to the provider and recognizing abnormal findings or changes in condition.
• Confirms and clarifies written orders prior to implementation of delegated tasks.
• Collects, prepares, and processes laboratory specimens for on-site and remote-site testing, tracking and entering results in the medical record, and performing quality control for waived testing and log maintenance.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Assist with front office duties, including greeting patients, answering phones, and verifying insurances.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program or 3+ years documented medical assistant experience and completion of the CH Medical Assistant Assessment.
• BCLS training and current certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Proficiency with care tasks such as phlebotomy, aseptic technique, etc.
