Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Surgical Coordinator to join our team at OCLI Vision. As a key member of our eye care team, you will play a vital role in guiding patients through the surgical process, ensuring seamless communication between patients, surgeons, and medical staff.

Key Responsibilities

- Schedule surgeries and manage the surgical schedule, considering priorities, emergencies, and patient special needs
- Coordinate patient medical history and clearance with Nurse Practitioners and/or Primary Care Physicians
- Maintain and track patient information, including demographics, medical history, and insurance details
- Prepare and review surgery schedules for accuracy and completeness
- Educate and advise patients on surgical procedures, preoperative preparation, and postoperative care
- Collect payments and manage patient billing
- Perform EMR documentation accurately and efficiently

Requirements

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with patients, surgeons, and medical staff
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities
- Knowledge of ocular pharmacology, including anesthetics, steroids, antibiotics, and other medications, is a plus
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a positive and flexible attitude
