Position Overview

Expedient is seeking a motivated individual for an on-site, entry-level role that provides a pathway to professional development, advancement, and career progression. The Junior IT Support Technician will become a vital member of our Operations Support Center (OSC) team, receiving comprehensive training (including industry-recognized certifications) and practical experience across various technical platforms such as virtualization, networking, data protection, Windows, disaster recovery, and Linux/Unix systems.

This position is ideal for those eager to acquire essential technical skills and experience while launching their career in information technology.

Applicants should demonstrate some familiarity with IT and technology; acceptable backgrounds may include self-directed learning, technical education, or relevant work experience. However, our on-the-job training will cover the necessary technology and business practices at Expedient, along with opportunities to learn about basic support requests, monitoring, and client service.

Work Schedule and Compensation: This role follows a regular schedule from Sunday to Tuesday, with alternating Wednesdays from 7 AM to 7 PM local time. An additional bonus will be awarded upon successful completion of the initial training period. Furthermore, all lunch breaks are fully compensated during 12-hour shifts.

Professional Growth & Training: At Expedient, we prioritize professional development and education. We will cover the costs for our IT Support Technicians to obtain relevant technical certifications such as CompTIA, A+, Network+, etc. Certain advanced certifications come with additional bonuses upon completion.

Compensation: The hourly wage is closely aligned with your technical knowledge, work experience, and academic background. This entry-level position seeks a passionate individual interested in pursuing a career in IT and willing to learn; therefore, all levels of experience will be considered. The salary range is between $32,000 and $37,000 per year, paid hourly, and may vary based on market conditions and shift assignments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage client inquiries and support tickets, conduct daily shift inspections, perform routine audits, and handle remote assistance requests, escalating complex issues as necessary.
  • Adhere to strict security protocols to facilitate client access requests within the data center, following specific access control guidelines.
  • Implement shipping and receiving procedures to ensure the secure transport of equipment to and from the facility.
  • Utilize the ticketing system to document all requests and activities, including special requests and customizations deemed important for future support.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in customer service.
  • Industry certifications (such as CompTIA, A+, or Network+) or equivalent experience in an IT role or academic background.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and independent problem-solving abilities.
  • Capability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.
  • Must successfully pass pre-employment screenings.

Physical Requirements:

  • Sitting - must be able to maintain a stationary position during the workday to check in visitors.
  • Walking - must be able to escort visitors to their equipment and walk the entire perimeter of the facility multiple times during the shift to conduct safety assessments.
  • Lifting - frequently lift lightweight items and occasionally handle heavier materials such as equipment and server hardware.
  • Dexterity - must be capable of operating security equipment, managing visitor access, and performing safety checks as required.
