Overview:

At Fire Fighter Sales & Service, we are dedicated to ensuring the safety and security of our clients through expert fire alarm systems management. As a Fire Safety Systems Technician I, you will play a crucial role in supporting our lead technician with various responsibilities related to the installation, maintenance, and inspection of fire alarm systems and life safety devices.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in troubleshooting, repairing, and conducting tests on a wide range of fire alarm and suppression systems.
  • Support installation efforts as needed to meet customer requirements.
  • Perform essential preventative maintenance on various fire alarm systems.
  • Engage directly with clients to address and resolve their concerns.
  • Complete necessary documentation to adhere to NFPA reporting and record-keeping standards.
  • Be available to work flexible hours based on customer needs.
  • Provide accurate quotations to clients to rectify reported issues.
  • Manage the pickup and delivery of materials as necessary.
  • Maintain cleanliness at job sites.
  • Ensure a safe working environment by following established standards and procedures.
  • Conduct administrative tasks and shop work as required.
  • Obtain NICET certifications and a CDL with hazardous endorsement within the first year of employment.
  • Achieve multi-state certifications when applicable.

Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent; trade school experience is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with basic wiring and electrical construction.
  • Experience with electronic testing and troubleshooting equipment.
  • Basic understanding of blueprints and wiring schematics.
  • Proficient in using hand and power tools.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Detail-oriented and organized.
  • Team-oriented with a focus on customer service.
  • Willingness to work overtime and adapt to changing schedules.
  • Must possess a clean driving record and reliable transportation.

Work Environment:

This position involves working at various customer locations, which may include clean and unclean conditions and varying temperatures. Candidates must be able to lift over 50 pounds and maneuver heavy equipment. Climbing ladders and working at heights may be required. Safety gear, including shoes and hard hats, may be necessary at certain sites.
