This is a remote position that may only be hired in select locations.


The Vice President, Senior Risk Management Leader (1LOD) - Commercial Finance is accountable for overseeing Business Unit (BU) risk initiatives, ensuring alignment with the Company's Risk Appetite and Corporate Strategy.

This role acts as a vital communication bridge between the Risk Management Department and FCB business units.

Engages in strategic discussions and contributes insights to foster a culture of risk awareness and ownership throughout the organization.

Establishes and nurtures collaborative relationships with senior leadership across various business lines, internal divisions, Risk Management program leaders, peer First Line Risk Managers, and other stakeholders to strengthen BU risk management capabilities.

Responsible for the recruitment, training, and professional development of team members. This position serves as a subject matter expert and may offer guidance to other associates as necessary.

Key Responsibilities

Overseeing BU key risk management activities and executing relevant risk monitoring, reporting, and governance duties. This includes tracking and reporting on essential risk indicators and limits.

Regularly disseminating risk-related information to the BU and providing training to embed a risk-aware culture, equipping associates with the necessary tools to fulfill risk management program requirements.

Maintaining knowledge of risk methodologies, practices, and control frameworks.
Supporting Regulatory Relations in interactions with the Bank's regulators concerning the BU

Acting as a subject matter expert to provide guidance and support to associates and senior management, ensuring effective collaboration between the BU and Risk Management departments.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 6 years of experience in Commercial Banking OR a High School Diploma or GED with at least 10 years of experience in Commercial Banking.

Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced Degree
Experience in the 1st Line within Commercial Finance or Commercial Real Estate
Experience in Enterprise or Operational risk management within the financial services sector,
Proficiency in MS Office applications
Understanding of various risk disciplines, particularly credit, operational, compliance, strategic, and reputational risks
A proactive and effective challenge attitude with comfort and confidence in interactions with all management levels
Ability to manage junior staff
Skill set includes PC Skills such as Microsoft Visio, Excel, and PowerPoint, along with knowledge of regulatory guidance related to enterprise risk and operational risk.
