Vice President of Reinsurance Strategy

We are currently in search of a seasoned Vice President of Reinsurance Strategy to join our Home Office Underwriting division. This pivotal role will be integral to Coaction's underwriting team, focusing on the execution of treaty placements and facilitating all facets of reinsurance transactions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and ensure the successful execution of treaty placements to bolster underwriting operations.
- Manage all elements of the reinsurance placement process, including reinsurer evaluations, data collection and validation for submissions, submission assessments, participation in broker/reinsurer discussions, and follow-up coordination for additional information.
- Analyze reinsurance pricing structures and frameworks.
- Handle reinsurer inquiries and audits, including the examination of contract terms and data provided to reinsurers.
- Engage in the selection process for Reinsurance Brokers.
- Directly oversee contract language with reinsurance brokers, ensuring Coaction secures the most advantageous terms available.
- Prepare and contribute to various presentations and reports, including those for the Board, Reinsurance Committee, treaty summaries, T-Listing reports, and Rating agency questionnaires.
- Participate in strategic projects within the home office underwriting team. These initiatives may involve assisting with collateral guidelines, developing analytical tools for portfolio management, evaluating Coaction's exposure to industry risks, and establishing risk-related guidelines that impact the insurance portfolio. Projects may vary in nature and may not have a defined path forward.
- A Bachelor's degree is required; insurance certifications (e.g., CPCU, ARM, FCAS, etc.) are preferred.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in reinsurance, which may encompass roles at reinsurers, reinsurance brokerage firms, or within a ceded reinsurance department.
- Strong knowledge across multiple lines of business, including property, casualty, professional lines, workers' compensation, and inland marine.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, along with strong interpersonal abilities.
- Proficient negotiation skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail and strong analytical capabilities.
- Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Experience collaborating with various internal teams, including underwriting, claims, actuarial, finance, and IT departments.
- Capacity to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Willingness to work beyond standard office hours and travel globally as necessary.
