Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Permanent Portfolio Accountant to join our accounting team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our fixed assets register, performing monthly reconciliations, and preparing financial statements.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain our fixed assets register, including calculating and recording monthly depreciation.
  • Perform monthly reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts, ensuring all items are properly accounted for and documented.
  • Prepare and post monthly journal entries, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and timely.
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements.
  • Analyze variances in financial performance against budget, prior periods, and forecasts.
  • Interact with tenants, ensuring all financial obligations are met and resolving any issues that may arise.
  • Participate in the month-end close process, ensuring all deadlines are met.
  • Assist with special projects as needed, including process improvements, systems implementations, and other initiatives.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance, preferably within the sales industry.
  • A strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, specifically related to fixed assets, depreciation, and reconciliations.
  • Proficiency in preparing and analyzing financial statements, including P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements.
  • Experience with month-end close processes and journal entries.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify and explain variances in financial performance.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with tenants and other stakeholders.
  • A high level of attention to detail and accuracy in all work.
  • The ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, and experience with accounting software.
