Key Responsibilities- Oversee the general ledger for all properties, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow reports.
- Utilize Yardi property management software for data entry, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Conduct regular audits to verify the accuracy of financial data and compliance with financial regulations and standards.
- Collaborate with property managers and other stakeholders to resolve accounting discrepancies and issues.
- Prepare annual budgets and financial forecasts, providing financial expertise to support strategic decision-making.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
- Assist with tax preparation and filing, including property taxes and income taxes.
- Participate in financial meetings, presenting financial reports and providing insights into financial performance and trends.
- Continuously improve accounting processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in either property accounting, public audit/advisory experience or general ledger experience in another industry.
- Proficiency in Yardi property management software is preferred but not required.
- Strong knowledge of general ledger functions, financial statement preparation, and accounting standards and regulations.
- Excellent numerical skills with strong attention to detail.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly and accurately.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- CPA certification is a plus.
