Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Patient Access Representative to join our team at Advocate Health. As a key member of our patient access team, you will be responsible for ensuring seamless patient registration and access to our healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Registration and Scheduling: Accurately collect and verify patient demographic and insurance information, and register patients for appointments and services.
  • Medical Records Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, including scanning and indexing of patient documents.
  • Insurance and Billing: Verify patient insurance coverage, collect copays and deductibles, and ensure accurate billing and reimbursement.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to patients, families, and healthcare providers, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Compliance and Quality: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including HIPAA, and participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; 2 years of experience in a healthcare or customer service role preferred.
  • Skills: Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Knowledge: Basic computer skills, including typing and data entry, and knowledge of medical terminology and insurance billing procedures.
Working Conditions

This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with established time constraints and difficult situations. The successful candidate must be able to make independent professional decisions pertaining to high-quality patient care and possess visual acuity and manual dexterity to perform computer data entry and other clerical aspects of the job.
