Your primary responsibility will be to collect and verify patient demographic and insurance information, as well as to obtain necessary signatures and documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Registration and Admission: Collect and verify patient demographic and insurance information, and obtain necessary signatures and documentation.
- Insurance Verification: Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits, and obtain necessary authorizations and referrals.
- Medical Records: Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, and ensure that all necessary documentation is completed and filed.
- Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to patients, families, and healthcare providers, and respond to inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and policies, including HIPAA and other regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
- Experience: 2 years of experience in a healthcare or customer service setting preferred.
- Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities. Proficiency in computer software and systems, including electronic medical records and insurance verification systems.
Working Conditions:
- Work Environment: This position is located in a fast-paced healthcare environment, with frequent interactions with patients, families, and healthcare providers.
- Physical Demands: The ability to sit for long periods of time, with frequent standing, walking, and bending. The ability to lift up to 35 pounds, with occasional lifting of heavier objects with assistance.
