The Highland Dallas is an upscale hotel that offers a unique blend of sophistication and casual elegance. Our goal is to provide an exceptional experience for our guests, and we're seeking a skilled Valet (Part-time) to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Customer Service: Greet guests in a friendly and welcoming manner, ensuring a positive experience from arrival to departure.
  • Valet Parking: Park and retrieve guest vehicles in a timely and courteous manner, using claim tickets to document vehicle damage and other details.
  • Luggage Handling: Read luggage tags, use guest names, and utilize claim tickets to ensure accurate delivery and storage of luggage and packages.
  • Rooming Process: Perform check-in and check-out calls, including luggage handling and escorting guests to their rooms.
  • Taxis and Transportation: Hail taxis as needed and assist guests with transportation arrangements.
  • Guest Van Transportation: Provide timely and friendly transportation services for guests, including airport pickups and drop-offs.
  • Cleanliness: Maintain the cleanliness of guest service areas, including the lobby entrance, valet parking area, and luggage storage areas.
  • Organization: Maintain an organized and clean appearance in all work areas.
  • Deliveries: Deliver messages, valet/laundry, and other items to guest rooms.
  • Daily Event Board: Post daily events in the lobby.
  • Knowledge of Area/Hotel Events: Respond to guest questions and provide information on local attractions, events, and daily activities.
  • Groups/VIP Guests: Greet groups and VIP guests by name and thank them for their patronage.
  • Communication: Maintain open communication with all shifts through the use of an inter-shift log.
  • Emergency Procedures: Maintain knowledge of emergency procedures, including guest-related responsibilities and evacuation procedures.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Hotel experience preferred.
  • Must maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times.
  • Ability to communicate with guests, respond to questions, and provide directions to nearby local attractions.
  • Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy.
  • Ability to ascertain information from luggage tags and claim checks to write numbers and names on claim checks and rooming lists.
  • Ability to drive vans, trucks, and automobiles, both manual and automatic transmissions.
  • Must have an excellent driving record as verified by a Motor Vehicle Report.
  • Ability to grasp, lift, and/or carry or otherwise move packages, boxes, and luggage with sufficient manual dexterity.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and/or sit and continuously perform essential job functions.
  • Ability to be in constant motion and perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, kneeling, walking, and running.
