Position Overview
Working Hours: 8:30 AM - 5:15 PM
This role is essential in ensuring a smooth patient experience from the moment they arrive until they are directed to their designated area.
The specialist is responsible for gathering vital information to create precise financial and demographic records for patients, which is crucial for optimizing reimbursement and enhancing clinical outcomes.
The responsibilities include scheduling appointments, collecting pertinent medical information from patients, clarifying departmental and hospital charges and policies, entering charges into the appropriate systems, and managing payment collection.
Additionally, the role involves handling incoming calls and appropriately directing patients and visitors.- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the AHA is preferred.
- 1-2 years of relevant experience in a healthcare environment is preferred.
- Ability to learn and retain medical coding is essential; experience with ICD-10 and CPT coding is preferred.
- Capability to interpret insurance information and knowledge of clinical practices and medical terminology is preferred.
- Basic proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) is required.
