Direct Support Shelter Advocate

Job Summary
Delta-T Group is seeking a Direct Support Shelter Advocate to join our team. As a member of our 24/7 team, you will provide shelter and support for homeless families. Your primary goal will be to ensure the safe day-to-day operation of the shelter and support the culture of moving families out of shelter.
Key Responsibilities
* Initiate and maintain social interactions with residents and assist as needed
* Conduct rounds of the shelter to maintain safety and security
* Assist with meal preparation, serving, and cleanup
* Intervene in crisis situations (medical, mental health, interpersonal)
* Complete assigned tasks of the shift
* Maintain order and cleanliness of the shelter
* Monitor bedrooms, bathrooms, and dayrooms to ensure safety and security
* Attend and participate in monthly staff meetings and required trainings
Requirements
* Previous work with homeless individuals and/or families, disabilities, or other at-risk populations
* Ability to work alone and handle crises with good judgment and adequate communication skills
* Current CPR and First Aid Certifications are a plus
