Position Overview

The Compliance Assurance Specialist at Christianson PLLP will conduct attestation engagements to assess, document, and verify adherence to regulatory standards for the firm's clientele, following the established quality control protocols. This role will also involve researching, evaluating, and summarizing regulatory frameworks pertaining to renewable fuels, while assisting in the formulation of audit and verification strategies for the renewable fuels sector.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute attestation engagements in line with established standards, including the preparation of agreed-upon procedures and audit documentation.
  • Gather and analyze data from renewable fuel production facilities to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Develop a foundational understanding of the EPA's Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) and West Coast Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS), keeping abreast of regulatory updates.
  • Validate compliance pathways through the new Quality Assurance Program (QAP) under the Renewable Fuels Standard.
  • Research and interpret new regulatory releases affecting renewable fuels compliance programs.
  • Represent the firm positively by communicating effectively with clients and maintaining the company's professional image.
  • Act as a communication bridge between staff and management.
  • Identify accounting requirements and propose, develop, and maintain solutions to business and financial challenges.
  • Engage actively in business development and foster relationships to enhance personal and firm growth.

Qualifications & Attributes:
  • A degree in business, accounting, finance, management, or a related field is preferred, though not mandatory.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the Renewable Fuels sector.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Effective and professional communication skills with clients and colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Outlook, Excel, and Word; intermediate Excel skills are preferred.
  • Must possess legal authorization to work in the United States.

Additional Information:
  • Remote work opportunity.
  • Standard working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. CST.
