Job Summary

Under the guidance of the Production Manager and Production Coordinator, the Production Lead will effectively supervise all production employees assigned to their shift. The Production Lead's duties include scheduling work assignments, training new and existing employees, reviewing performance and attendance, and administering and enforcing all workplace rules and policies. The Production Lead is responsible for productivity and quality of their shifts, providing moderate supervision of staff and scheduling of material through the wafer finishing operation. Technical judgments may also be required in the disposition of questionable material.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provides updates and communication to Production Leadership, production team, engineering, and coworkers
  • Assumes responsibility for daily housekeeping of tools, equipment, and all work areas consistent with 5S Principles
  • Leads and/or supports training of new and existing employees
  • Exercises product (wafer) handling skills that prevent loss of product due to carelessness
  • Accurate data collection and entry into Excel and (GIP) system
  • Ensures conformance of all safety processes and procedures
  • Suggests Kaizen activities to help increase yields, reduce costs, or eliminate operations
  • Recommends equipment upgrades, staffing adjustments, process changes, and modifications
  • Enters process directions into the production tool computers
  • Builts and maintains results-based working relationships with Engineering, Maintenance, shipping, and all other applicable positions
  • Maintains 5S protocol
  • Performs visual product inspection, including both front and back side of product
  • Performs equipment changes on tools as assigned
  • Performs other duties as assigned or directed
Requirements
  • Position requires English speaking and reading skills; process documents can be read and instructions can be understood
  • High level of teamwork and cooperation
  • Position requires the ability to strictly follow safety requirements at all times
  • Understanding of basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division are required
  • Requires a high level of self-initiative, desire to learn, and be effective
  • Detailed-oriented with the ability to listen and pay close attention
  • Ability to use manufacturing process equipment, PC, and peripherals (printer, scanner), basic hand tools, cleaning supplies, and equipment
  • High School diploma or GED required; Associate's degree or higher preferred
  • 3 years' experience with wafer production equipment
  • 2 years of supervisory experience required
  • Prior clean room experience preferred
  • Semiconductor industry experience a plus but not required
  • Reliable and consistent attendance is a must
Work Environment
  • General manufacturing and clean room environment
  • Work room can be noisy with multiple pieces of machinery operating at the same time

Working with toxic or caustic chemicals daily. The continuous use of factory-provided uniforms and special factory shoes are required. Anyone entering a clean room is required to wear full Class 10 Cleanroom outfits, inclusive of snoods, masks, bunny suits, boots, and gloves for several hours at a time.

Additional Items
  • Must be flexible with scheduling. Although this is generally a set schedule, there will be business needs that dictate some shift changes and overtime.
  • Use of factory-provided uniforms and special factory shoes are required. Additionally, some roles will be required to wear full Class 10 Cleanroom outfit (inclusive of snoods, masks, bunny suits, boots, and gloves) at times for this role.
