Position Summary

The Culinary Events Coordinator plays a vital role in enhancing the La Scuola experience by delivering memorable, enjoyable, and educational events for our guests through exceptional service and support. This position reports directly to the Education and Events Manager.
  • Greet guests with warmth and hospitality during both consumer and private events at La Scuola.
  • Assist the Chef during scheduled classes and events by proactively addressing their needs and those of the guests.
  • Arrange the dining area according to the event format, ensuring proper setup of floor plans, silverware, glassware, and promotional materials.
  • Prepare workstations with all necessary ingredients and equipment for each class or event, ensuring a seamless experience for every guest.
  • Serve meals prepared by the Chef during events, accurately noting dietary preferences and courses, while also pouring beverages.
  • Undertake additional kitchen responsibilities, including the preparation and setup of food stations for events.
  • Collaborate with the Chef to clean and sanitize the kitchen area in preparation for subsequent phases of the event, including the removal of all used materials such as dishes, glassware, and utensils.
  • Complete side work and closing tasks, including polishing silverware and glassware, restocking beverages, aprons, and napkins, as well as any other necessary items in La Scuola.
  • Assist with storage organization and other projects or duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Demonstrated excellent guest service skills with a friendly and confident demeanor
  • Ability to learn, retain, and communicate Eataly knowledge effectively
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic math proficiency
  • Prior experience in retail and/or restaurant settings is preferred
  • Strong communication abilities
Compensation: $20-24 per hour, part-time, 20-25 hours weekly

Schedule aligned with La Scuola class timings, PM (4PM - closing) availability is essential

Job Requirements
  • Willingness to work onsite with a flexible schedule, often including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Capability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to maintain a well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours, including standing, walking, bending, and squatting.
