Position Overview: Insight Global is seeking a skilled Controls Engineer for the third shift. The primary responsibility of this role is to develop control system designs based on established operational sequences. A typical Controls Engineer will be tasked with creating intricate piping and wiring schematics while also delivering technical assistance across a variety of control systems initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and collaborate with maintenance teams to address issues such as equipment downtime and analyze the causes of machine failures to implement preventive measures.
  • Engage with a skilled trades workforce comprising 20 to 30 individuals.
  • Design and engineer pneumatic piping layouts.
  • Create electrical wiring schematics, hydraulic piping designs, and electrical control panels.
  • Develop programmable Human Machine Interface (HMI) software.
  • Conduct trials, debugging, and provide start-up assistance for control systems.
  • Offer technical support during the installation of tools and equipment.
  • Facilitate training and provide technical guidance for plant personnel.

Essential Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in troubleshooting Siemens PLCs.
  • Experience in an automotive or industrial manufacturing setting.
  • Proficiency in modifying PLC code (not required to program from scratch).
  • Capability to collaborate with skilled trades teams during third shift operations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Allen Bradley PLCs.
  • Experience with vision and camera systems, such as Cognex.
  • Knowledge of Fanuc Robotics.
  • General understanding of CNC machinery.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
