Position: Personal Injury Case Manager/Paralegal

Are you a meticulous and experienced Personal Injury Case Manager/Paralegal looking to join a growing team? You will be working on-site five days a week, with an initial assessment period to ensure mutual compatibility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Onboarding: Facilitate the intake process for new clients, including information gathering, case viability assessment, and documentation of client details.
  • Case Oversight: Manage a portfolio of personal injury cases, ensuring smooth progression through the legal framework.
  • Client Interaction: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, providing updates and addressing any questions.
  • Document Organization: Maintain and organize case-related documents, including medical records, police reports, and correspondence.
  • Legal Support: Conduct legal research to assist attorneys in preparing cases and developing strategies.
  • Discovery Assistance: Support the discovery phase by drafting interrogatories, document requests, and other legal documentation.
  • Trial Preparation: Prepare materials for trial, including notebooks, exhibits, and witness lists to aid attorneys during proceedings.
  • Court Filings: Handle the submission of legal documents to courts, including pleadings, motions, and settlements.
  • Mediation and Negotiation: Engage in mediation and negotiation sessions to seek favorable settlements for clients.
  • Deposition Coordination: Organize and attend depositions, serving as a liaison among clients, witnesses, and attorneys.
  • Expert Witness Collaboration: Work with expert witnesses, coordinating their involvement and managing schedules.
  • Court Calendar Management: Keep court calendars updated, ensuring adherence to deadlines and scheduled appearances.

The responsibilities outlined above may evolve as the firm expands, and certain tasks may be reassigned to focus on skill development and career growth. Any changes will be communicated in advance.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of legal experience, with at least 3 years in personal injury.
  • Fluency in both Spanish and English is a plus, but not mandatory.
  • Bachelor's degree is required.
  • A paralegal certification is advantageous but not essential.
  • Experience in litigation is crucial.
  • Ability to manage approximately 100 cases concurrently while meeting deadlines.
  • Experience in claims adjusting is beneficial.
  • Understanding of medical claims is preferred.
  • Experience in negotiating medical expenses is a plus.
  • Proficiency in case management systems (training will be provided on our specific system).
  • Familiarity with technology platforms such as PeachCourt, Tyler/Odyssey, File & Serve Xpress, and Pacer (preferred), along with Microsoft Word and Google Docs.
  • Strong writing and grammar skills are essential.
