The Financial Advisor will serve as the Assistant Director of Financial Management for the Division of Investment, overseeing the mission and near-term objectives for the Division from a financial operational perspective. This includes managing the day-to-day financial operations of several Pension Funds and Trust Funds, working directly with vendors to ensure smooth and efficient operations, and creating and maintaining reporting/metrics for transparency.
Key Responsibilities:
• Coordinate with multiple financial vendors and accounting staff to ensure smooth financial operations and timely, accurate reporting.
• Manage accounting and pension fund performance, ensuring all deliverables are met and solving accounting and performance issues with custodian banks.
• Ensure quality assurance on internal and external accounting processes, monitoring and being aware of changes to GASB requirements and drafting procedural changes as needed.
• Work with internal and external auditors, providing reports/data as needed and answering questions and challenges in accuracies.
• Coordinate with State authorities on Trust Funds, ensuring all data requirements are delivered both internally and externally, validating reporting outputs, and ensuring timely delivery against target dates.
Requirements:
• Good interpersonal skills, excellent attention to detail, good time management skills, ability to multitask, and self-starter.
