Position Overview

The Loan Processing Manager oversees the workflow and performance metrics within a designated area to guarantee efficient loan processing and closures. This role involves mentoring and evaluating Loan Processors to ensure adherence to company policies, investor requirements, and regulatory standards. Additionally, the manager will update internal protocols and educate processing staff on evolving federal and state regulations, ensuring the integrity and quality of loan documentation while delivering outstanding customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the loan pipeline and performance metrics for the team, adjusting workloads as necessary.
  • Provide training and support to Loan Processors to clarify procedural and regulatory issues, product knowledge, and system requirements.
  • Educate team members on effective pipeline management, processing techniques, and customer service standards.
  • Coordinate daily workflow and facilitate communication between processing and other departments.
  • Conduct quality checks on submitted loans to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Review loan applications and supporting documents for compliance with company standards and regulatory guidelines.
  • Ensure that Loan Processors meet productivity and customer service goals.
  • Conduct training sessions for new and existing staff.
  • Address compliance issues and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Manage escalated issues and ensure timely resolutions.
  • Participate in staffing decisions, including hiring, promotions, and performance evaluations.
  • Identify potential fraud risks and escalate as necessary.
  • Stay informed on current federal and state regulations and industry trends.
  • Facilitate regular team meetings and participate in monthly staff discussions.
  • Monitor reports to identify training needs.
  • Assist with loan processing during peak volume periods.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; further education in Business, Finance, or related fields preferred.
  • A minimum of seven years of experience in loan processing, with a focus on various loan types.
  • At least two years of supervisory experience.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of mortgage lending regulations and internal processes.
  • Expertise in evaluating documentation related to mortgage applications.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to assess risks and make informed decisions.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Patience and capability to mentor junior team members.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and internal data management systems.
Supervision
  • General oversight of team activities.
  • High level of independent judgment in decision-making.
  • Occasional supervision with a focus on guidance for complex issues.
  • Travel may be required.
Work Environment
  • Primarily office-based with minimal physical demands.
  • Regular use of computer systems and communication tools.
  • Standard office environment with no significant exposure to adverse conditions.
