About the Role

Lincoln Financial Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced VP Finance, Retirement Plan Services to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership to achieve key business objectives for the Retirement Plan Services (RPS) business line.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and oversee the comprehensive analysis and reporting of financial information to support and drive strategic executive decision making
  • Ensure the finance functional areas are meeting all objectives pertaining to quality, productivity, customer service, budget and project management
  • Analyze complex financial information and provide strategic insights to key senior executive stakeholders
  • Develop and ensure RPS operational plans are aligned with Workplace Solutions (WPS)/Lincoln Financial Group's (LFG) overall business plans and specific strategic and tactical initiatives
  • Contribute to the strategy development for highly complex financial trends, issues and/or concerns for RPS
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with senior executives so as to identify their needs as they seek solutions for a full range of business challenges; ensuring that these executives are provided with strategically optimal financial impacts to the enterprise
  • Oversee effective internal control of all RPS operations to ensure an accurate reporting of its financial position
  • Lead and oversee departmental and/or enterprise wide projects to ensure senior stakeholders have actionable and valuable financial information which enables decision-making that results in successful outcomes
  • Ensure the preparation of reports which summarize and forecast RPS business activities and financial position in the areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations
  • Ensure the preparation and communicates RPS's financial performance to WPS and LFG's leadership team, LFG's Board of Directors, Regulators, Rating Agencies, Investors/Analysts, LFG Customers/Intermediaries, and the employees of the RPS line of business
  • Ensure that risks, exposure and key business issues are identified, properly analyzed and resolved
  • Develop and implement the overall financial analysis policies and procedures
  • Ensure the compiling and analyzing of key performance indicators and metrics for RPS
  • Develop and manages the overall departmental budget
  • Guides and evaluates departmental performance and takes appropriate action to meet and/or exceed performance standards
Requirements
  • 12+ Years experience in financial analysis that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position
  • 5+ years of management, strategy, and influencing senior management/critical stakeholders experience
  • 4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's)
  • Strong presentation skills with demonstrated ability to influence at all levels of management through clear, informed and logical discussions/presentations
  • Advocates effectively, readily command attention and respect in groups as demonstrated by people listening to and getting on board with initiatives
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully hire, retain, develop and coach staff via a culture of real-time performance feedback, with ability to build both technical and leadership skills
  • Demonstrated strong relationship management skills with internal clients (e.g. senior/executive management, peers and colleagues); proven ability to develop creative and collaborative approaches
