Position SummaryWe are currently seeking a skilled Industrial Controls Electrician to join our field operations team. This role is essential for the installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of mobile industrial control systems at various client locations across the United States. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in electrical systems and automation technologies, coupled with a proactive problem-solving mindset.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct inspections, troubleshoot, repair, and replace components such as instruments, valves, disconnects, and starters to ensure personnel safety and operational continuity.
- Lead preventive and corrective technical services on instrumentation, controls, and electrical equipment, including transmitters, controllers, motor starters, actuators, and gas equipment.
- Disassemble, clean, inspect, repair, and reassemble equipment like automatic valves and motors to restore functionality.
- Measure, cut, bend, and install conduit and fittings as necessary for equipment installation or repair.
- Install, examine, replace, or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, and lighting fixtures.
- Configure, install, and commission new instruments and controllers, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Implement safety measures by locking, tagging, and testing energy sources to make equipment safe for maintenance.
- Coordinate work with other trades during new installations or replacement of existing components.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Distributive Control Systems using appropriate testing equipment.
- Interpret P&ID diagrams and engineering drawings related to pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Demonstrate proficiency in PLC programming and maintain accurate documentation of site visits and calibration records.
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
- Completion of an accredited military or trade school program is mandatory.
- A minimum of two years of industrial experience in instrumentation and electrical equipment maintenance and calibration.
- Military training may be considered equivalent to industrial experience.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and skill set.
- Familiarity with standard industrial I&E skills, including AC/DC voltage, PLCs, and motor control systems.
- Effective communication and computer skills.
- Commitment to quality workmanship and adaptability in job assignments.
- Ability to work independently and complete assignments in a timely manner.
- Adherence to safe work practices and compliance with NEC guidelines.
- Successful completion of pre-employment screening and assessments is required.
