Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Instrumentation and Controls Engineer to join our team at Jacobs. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, testing, and implementing industrial process automation systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop industrial process automation systems, including control panels and instrumentation.
  • Test and commission industrial process automation systems to ensure they meet client requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement process control strategies.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and technicians.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments, and apply this knowledge to improve our engineering practices.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Chemical Engineering from an accredited university or college.
  • 15+ years of experience as an instrumentation and control design engineer for industrial private-sector clients.
  • Experience in design, testing, and startup of industrial process automation systems.
  • Experience with industrial process control networking, including Fieldbus technologies.
  • Strong analytical, conceptual, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to effectively interface with all levels of personnel and management.
  • Ability to work and thrive in a team environment.
  • Ability to self-motivate and work independently with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of PLC, DCS, and other controls applications.
  • Professional Engineer Registration (PE) required.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Forward thinking, eager to learn best practices, and contribute with innovative ideas.
  • Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a variety of teams, including multi-disciplinary teams.
