Job Title: Lead Instrumentation and Controls Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Instrumentation and Controls Engineer to join our team at Jacobs in Cincinnati, Ohio. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, testing, and implementing industrial process automation systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop control systems for various processes, including electrical circuits and panels.
  • Develop options and optimizations for all aspects of process control, instrumentation, and automation.
  • Provide on-site assistance during startup and coordinate work activities with other staff members and the discipline lead.
  • Mentor other professionals and help them discover what drives them, nurturing their purpose and guiding them forward.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or chemical engineering from an accredited university or college.
  • 15+ years of experience as an instrumentation and control design engineer for industrial private-sector clients.
  • Experience in design, testing, and startup of industrial process automation systems.
  • Experience with industrial process control networking, including Fieldbus technologies.
  • Control panel design knowledge, including UL508A requirements.
  • Strong analytical, conceptual, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to effectively interface with all levels of personnel and management.
  • Ability to work and thrive in a team environment.
  • Ability to self-motivate and work independently with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Working knowledge of PLC, DCS, and other controls applications.
  • Professional Engineer Registration (PE) required.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Forward thinking, eager to learn best practices, and contribute with innovative ideas.
  • Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a variety of teams, including multi-disciplinary teams.
