Position Overview
The Electrical Engineering Commissioning Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire design process from initial concept to final implementation of all electrical systems and components. This role includes managing the daily operations of the electrical team and collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure designs are manufacturable, continuously improved, and delivered on schedule.

Key Responsibilities
  • Report directly to the Senior Commissioning Manager / Electrical Coordinator.
  • Create basic schematics, equipment foundations, and layout drawings using AutoCAD.
  • Review and update electrical drawings for ongoing projects; complete Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) as needed.
  • Ensure internal designs align with construction drawings and adhere to best practices in shipbuilding; develop construction strategies and module breakdowns in collaboration with production teams.
  • Review and approve vendor drawings and system designs, coordinating with design and lofting firms to meet project timelines.
  • Collaborate with various trades throughout the installation phase.
  • Examine purchase orders for major electrical components.
  • Provide field support to production teams.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Marine, or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent industry experience is required.
  • A minimum of 5-15 years of experience in commercial maritime or military electrical engineering is essential.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of engaging with all organizational levels.
  • Proven strategic planning, analytical, technical writing, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
  • Proficiency in Ship Constructor Software, AutoCAD 3D, and MS Office Suite is required.

Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will possess familiarity with vessel electrical systems, machinery monitoring and alarm systems, power control and display systems, AC drives, motors, transformers, control circuits, navigation and bridge control systems, as well as expertise in electrical wiring, cable run sheets, penetration design, and schematic diagrams.
