Functional OverviewThe role involves the installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of various coordinate measuring machines (CMM), machine tools, and their accessories. The engineer will identify, analyze, and rectify failures, as well as install new components or parts. Responsibilities also include conducting startup testing and providing advanced customer training on product features and maintenance.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the installation and maintenance of machines, including diagnosis, repairs, troubleshooting, certifications, and recalibration to meet factory specifications and accuracy standards.
- Develop innovative solutions for unique, chronic, or complex challenges.
- Address intricate customer inquiries regarding product features and suggest suitable upgrades.
- Guide and mentor junior service engineers, ensuring quality in their work.
- Support service calls at customer locations to resolve issues related to company products, diagnose problems, and perform duties to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Provide advanced technical support to other service representatives and customers.
- Ensure timely preparation and completion of service and expense reports.
- Deliver exceptional customer satisfaction in a professional manner.
- Perform complex mechanical tasks, including assembly, disassembly, leveling, diagnosis, and repair of automated equipment.
- Execute intricate electrical tasks, including diagnosis, troubleshooting, and repair of control systems.
- Conduct preventative maintenance and field modifications.
- Stay updated with administrative responsibilities such as customer service logs and internal service records.
- Maintain tools and testing equipment, ensuring proper calibration.
- Communicate regularly with customers to ensure issue resolution and appropriate follow-up.
- Keep abreast of industry trends and best practices.
- Enhance technical skills through training classes, independent research, and seminars.
- Assume a team lead role for project-related tasks.
- Mentor junior service engineers, fostering their skill development through advice, coaching, and training opportunities.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
