NSC Technologies, LLC is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineering Applications Specialist. This role is responsible for overseeing the initial design phase through to the final implementation of all electrical systems and components. The individual will lead and manage the daily operations of the electrical team while collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure manufacturability, drive continuous improvement, and adhere to project timelines.
The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of various Shipboard Systems, including piping, hydraulics, and HVAC, along with the capability to interpret relevant ABS/Coast Guard regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Report directly to the Senior Commissioning Manager / Electrical Coordinator.
- Create basic schematics, equipment foundations, and layout drawings using AutoCAD.
- Evaluate and modify electrical drawings for ongoing projects; manage Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) as necessary.
- Ensure internal designs align with construction drawings and adhere to best practices in shipbuilding; develop construction strategies and module breakdowns in collaboration with production teams.
- Review and authorize vendor drawings and system designs, coordinating with design and lofting firms to meet project deadlines.
- Facilitate communication with trades throughout the installation phase.
- Examine purchase orders for significant electrical equipment.
- Provide field support to production teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Marine, or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent industry experience is required.
- A minimum of 5-15 years of experience in commercial maritime or military electrical engineering.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, capable of engaging with all organizational levels.
- Proven strategic planning, analytical, technical writing, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Ship Constructor Software, AutoCAD 3D, and MS Office Suite is essential.
