Job Title: Manager of Research and Planning

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager of Research and Planning to join our team at the State of Connecticut. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for leading the research and planning efforts to drive business growth and improvement.

Job Summary:

The Manager of Research and Planning will be responsible for conducting research and analysis to inform business decisions, developing and implementing strategic plans, and leading cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives. This is a critical role that requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent communication and leadership abilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct research and analysis to inform business decisions and drive growth
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve business objectives
  • Lead cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify business needs and develop solutions
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including vendors and partners
Requirements:
  • 9 years of professional experience in management analysis, systems analysis, planning, research or a related field
  • 2 years of supervisory experience
  • Master's degree in research, statistics, economics or a closely related field
  • Experience working with longitudinal or integrated data systems
  • Experience developing standardized and repeatable procedures
  • Experience using data preparation and analysis software such as Microsoft Office, R, SAS (Statistical Analysis System) or Python
  • Experience using data visualization software such as Tableau or DataWrapper
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience performing research for a state, municipal or federal government agency for workforce development
  • Experience working with data visualization tools
  • Experience developing and implementing strategic plans
