Key Responsibilities- Develop and lead novel research projects to advance Additive Manufacturing technology
- Collaborate with industry partners, academia, and government agencies to develop new technologies and solutions
- Lead process development activities to improve print capability, increase speed, reduce cost, and enhance material performance
- Develop and utilize advanced tools and equipment to characterize machines and process space
- Work with cross-functional teams to support and improve the full value stream
- Provide process expertise and best practices to RTX Business Units
- Advanced degree in a related field (e.g. Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, etc.)
- Minimum 8 years of prior relevant experience
- Strong understanding of engineering principles and hands-on experience working with laboratory equipment
- Excellent communication and project management skills
- Experience with advanced build processors, tool path development, and implementation
- Scripting experience with Matlab, Python, VBA, JavaScript, or similar
- Experience with software and tools used in Additive Manufacturing, including CAD packages
- Hands-on experience with metal laser powder-bed-fusion AM equipment
- Working understanding of AM machine sensors and control systems
