Medical Office Floater Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and energetic individual to join our team as a Medical Office Floater in our Greensboro office.

This is a full-time position that requires a strong understanding of medical terminology and insurance. The ideal candidate will have 2 years of experience in a similar capacity and be able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Check in patients, collect payments, and verify insurance information
  • Process new patient paperwork and update existing information
  • Prepare for upcoming appointments and explain insurance authorization to patients as needed
  • Post payments and balances, prepare daily deposits, and schedule new patient appointments
  • Communicate with insurance companies to obtain pre-certification authorizations
  • Support the office by covering the switchboard and serving as a point of contact for scheduling appointments and procedures
  • Coordinate pre-certification approvals and manage physician schedule changes
  • Answer telephones, respond to requests, and direct calls to the appropriate party
  • Provide financial estimates to patients and set up payment plans
  • Assist with surgery scheduling and comply with all processes and HIPAA regulations
Requirements:
  • 2 years of experience in a medical business office setting
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology and insurance
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
