We are seeking a skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Acute Medical and Progressive Care (D6/5) unit at University Hospital in Madison, WI.
About the Role:This 29-bed unit provides comprehensive and specialized nursing care to acutely ill adult patients with multiple comorbidities and various medical diagnoses. Our team is highly competent and adaptable, with a focus on providing high-quality care in a learning environment.
Responsibilities:- Provide direct patient care to patients with complex medical conditions, including those with cystic fibrosis, pulmonary hypertension, and post-lung transplant.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to promote smooth transitions among levels of care.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of each patient.
- Participate in ongoing education and professional development to enhance nursing practice and patient outcomes.
- 2+ years of acute care experience, with a focus on IMC or ICU.
- WI nursing license or compact license from permanent address state.
- BLS and ACLS certification through American Heart Association.
- Basic Arrhythmia experience and ability to pass UW Health Telemetry test.
