Job Title: WI - RN - IMC Acute Medical Progressive Care Unit Nurse

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Acute Medical and Progressive Care unit at University Hospital in Madison, WI.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will provide comprehensive and specialized nursing care to acutely ill adult patients with multiple comorbidities and hemodynamic instability. The unit is equipped with 29 beds, including 15 general care and 14 intermediate care beds.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-quality care to patients with complex medical diagnoses, including cystic fibrosis, pulmonary hypertension, and post-lung transplant.
  • Collaborate with care teams to promote smooth transitions among levels of care.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of each patient.
  • Participate in ongoing education and professional development to enhance nursing practice and patient outcomes.
Requirements:
  • 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years.
  • IMC experience required; ICU experience considered but must be willing to work with non-ICU patients.
  • Transplant and trach experience required.
  • WI nursing license or compact license from permanent address state.
  • BLS and ACLS certified through American Heart Association.
Work Environment:

University Hospital, 600 Highland Ave, Madison, WI 53792.

Shifts and Schedule:

36 hours/week, Evening/Night, 12-hour shifts, every other weekend rotation, some holidays required.
