Job Summary

Saia is seeking a highly skilled Business Development Manager to join our team. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for developing and managing client relationships, identifying business opportunities, and driving revenue growth.

Main Responsibilities

  • Client Relationship Management
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing clients to increase revenue and retention.
    • Identify new business opportunities and develop strategies to pursue them.
  • Business Development
    • Research and track market trends, competitor behaviors, and industry developments to identify growth opportunities.
    • Develop and propose solutions to address client challenges and increase revenue.
  • Sales and Negotiation
    • Negotiate contracts and close sales deals to exceed performance metrics.
    • Prepare and present compelling sales presentations and proposals to prospective clients.
  • Record Keeping and Analysis
    • Maintain accurate records of sales activities and client interactions.
    • Track and analyze sales performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.

Requirements

  • Education
    • Bachelor's degree in business or a related field.
  • Experience
    • 2+ years of sales or transportation experience.
  • Skills
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AS400.
