Position Overview:
As a skilled Heavy Machinery Technician, you will engage in advanced mechanical tasks, focusing on diagnosing and repairing various types of trucks and heavy machinery.

Salary Information:
The starting wage for this position is reflective of the base salary for the upcoming year, with a comprehensive salary range that includes longevity pay, reaching up to $36.81.

Job Responsibilities:
In this role, you will:
1. Perform complex mechanical work, including diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing light, medium, and heavy equipment, both in the field and within a workshop environment.
2. Work under the guidance of supervisory personnel to ensure quality and efficiency in all tasks.

Physical Requirements:
Applicants must be capable of:
- Constantly: Lifting and carrying up to 30 pounds; pushing/pulling up to 25 pounds; maintaining grip strength up to 30 pounds; standing, walking, and possessing good vision and hearing capabilities.
- Frequently: Lifting and carrying up to 40 pounds; pushing/pulling up to 40 pounds; bending, reaching, and squatting.
- Occasionally: Lifting and carrying up to 70 pounds; pushing/pulling up to 55 pounds; climbing, crawling, kneeling, and driving.
- Rarely: Pushing/pulling over 160 pounds; grip strength up to 200 pounds.

Work Environment:
This position requires working both indoors and outdoors, often independently or collaboratively, with frequent interruptions and deadlines that necessitate strong concentration and decision-making skills.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify for this position, candidates must possess:
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a vocational training program in diesel mechanics or heavy equipment mechanics, or three years of verified experience in a similar role.
- A valid Class 'D' license, with the ability to obtain a Class 'A' Commercial Driver's License (CDL) within the first year of employment.

Certification Requirements:
Applicants must obtain MN DOT Commercial Vehicle Inspector certification within the first year of employment.
