KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct basic diagnostics on lawn and garden machinery, utility vehicles, and other small engine devices to identify necessary repairs.
- Perform pre-delivery inspections and setups on new lawn and garden equipment and utility vehicles.
- Carry out preventative maintenance inspections.
- Assist with loading and unloading equipment as required.
- Document work orders thoroughly, detailing diagnostics, repairs, parts utilized, and time spent.
- Execute additional tasks as assigned by management.
- Maintain a tidy work environment and conduct work in an organized manner.
- Ensure the upkeep of vehicles, inventory, tools, and equipment.
- Present a clean and professional personal appearance.
- Arrive at work punctually.
- Exhibit effective time management skills and the ability to work autonomously.
- Demonstrate a strong work ethic.
- Communicate effectively in both individual and group settings.
- Foster positive and professional relationships with colleagues and management.
- Show a continuous commitment to customer service.
- Promote the service department to clients, including service offerings, inspections, and parts.
- Complete required training to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Stay informed about John Deere and competitive products.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations.
- Preferred: One or more years of experience or a technical college degree/certification.
- Experience in setup, repair, service, and maintenance following technical manuals.
- Familiarity with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Experience operating vehicles, tools, and equipment for diagnostic purposes.
- Basic computer skills are necessary.
- Experience with Service ADVISOR or similar diagnostic tools is preferred.
- Able to lift, bend, and carry equipment.
- A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required.
- CDL (Commercial Driver's License) is preferred.
