Waste Management Team Lead

About the JobThe Operations Supervisor is a key supervisory position that ensures every order's details are completed in a timely and cost-effective manner through leadership, training, and effective communication within the incumbent's team. This position is responsible for performing and overseeing the operation and maintenance of facility including managing employees, implementing daily job tasks, and meeting production goals in a safe and compliant manner.
- The ideal candidate will have 2 or more years of prior experience working with hazardous materials, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to operate equipment, including a forklift and pallet jack.
- They must also be able to wear company provided personal protection equipment and possess a 40 Hour Hazwoper certification.
- Lead a team of employees engaged in hazardous waste management and processing.
- Ensure safety and compliance are the priority by leading daily tailgate meetings, completing daily inspections, and ensuring their team is following all Health & Safety/Job Safety Analysis (JSA's) procedures as outlined in Clean Earth procedures and policies.
- Communicate to management each day's progress, facility needs, difficulties, and changes in operations so the team can adapt to changing conditions.
- Train technicians and operators on-the-job in equipment operation, service line processes, and necessary paperwork. Provide training and coaching to team members as needed.
- Maintain records for DOT, EPA, City, and State officials as assigned.
- Supervise and operate fork trucks and other heavy equipment when properly trained to move materials for storage/loading and off-loading.
- Plan, organize, assign, direct, and review the work of employees engaged in the operation and maintenance of the wastewater treatment plant, the advanced water treatment facility, and the disposal facilities.
