Job Overview

Clean Earth's Operations Supervisor plays a crucial role in ensuring timely and cost-effective order completion. This key supervisory position involves leadership, training, and effective communication within the team to meet production goals in a safe and compliant manner.

Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of employees engaged in hazardous waste management and processing, allocating time between planning, organizing, directing, and reviewing employee work (20-30%), and implementing plans with team members (70-80%).
  • Prioritize safety and compliance by conducting daily tailgate meetings, completing inspections, and ensuring adherence to Health & Safety/Job Safety Analysis (JSA) procedures as outlined in Clean Earth policies.
  • Communicate daily progress, facility needs, challenges, and changes in operations to management to adapt to changing conditions.
  • Train technicians and operators on equipment operation, service line processes, and necessary paperwork, providing coaching and guidance as needed.
  • Maintain records for DOT, EPA, City, and State officials as assigned.
  • Operate fork trucks and other heavy equipment when trained to move materials for storage/loading and off-loading.
  • Plan, organize, assign, direct, and review employee work in operating and maintaining wastewater treatment plants, advanced water treatment facilities, and disposal sites.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years of experience working with hazardous materials.
  • The ability to operate equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks.
  • A valid 40-Hour Hazwoper certification.
  • The ability to wear company-provided personal protective equipment.
Preferred Qualifications

We welcome candidates with:

  • An associate's or bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Environmental Sciences.
  • Experience sampling and receiving hazardous waste.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and RCRA regulations.
  • Proficiency with Windows-based programs (Excel and Word).
