About This Role

Baxter is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Automation Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our digital transformation initiative, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining advanced automation systems to improve manufacturing processes and productivity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement solutions to complex automation problems using Industry 4.0 technologies such as AI, ML, computer vision, and IoT platforms.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas for process improvement and implement changes to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Design and develop technical documentation, including protocols, reports, and user requirements specifications.
  • Perform routine testing, analysis of data, and report results to ensure the quality and reliability of automation systems.
  • Manage and implement change control activities related to equipment and automation systems.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to other team members and stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronics) is required.
  • 3+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • 3+ years of experience with Rockwell PLCs and servo control systems.
  • Ability to read and write electrical schematics.
  • Knowledgeable in the practice and execution of validation protocols.
  • Experience with computer vision hardware and software.
Preferred Skills
  • PLC programming: Allen-Bradley Control Logix, AB500, Safety PLCs.
  • HMI: Allen-Bradley.
  • Communication: Understanding of TCP/IP networks, RS-232 interfaces, Profibus communication, Fieldbus, and HSSB.
  • Electrical: Hands-on troubleshooting and diagnostic skills, understanding of Category 3 Safety Systems, E-Plan P8, AutoCAD, ability to read/draw schematics.
  • Familiarity with drives (servo and VFD), motion control, encoders, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
  • Robotics: Fanuc, Yaskawa.
  • Vision Systems: Cognex, Keyence.
  • Programming: C#, C++, VB, SQL Server.
What We Offer

Baxter offers a competitive salary range of $88,000 - $121,000 annually, depending on location, skills, and experience. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses. We are committed to equitable pay for all employees and strive to be transparent with our pay practices.
