Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Distribution Engineering Manager to join our team at Collabera. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for providing technical oversight, direction, and support for project teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and oversight to project teams, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Client Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, managing project-related issues and ensuring that client expectations are met.
  • Project Management: Oversee and manage existing capital, reliability, and customer project work for clients, including reconductors, voltage conversions, load swaps, circuit rebuilds, DOT relocations, DG integrations, and new large customer development feeds.
  • Resource Management: Facilitate client and team collaboration and communication, managing resource loading based on client demands.
  • Project Monitoring: Track scope, schedule, and budget for projects in flight, ensuring that projects are on track to meet client expectations.
  • Quality Assurance: Oversee QA/QC for your design team, ensuring that all work meets the required quality standards.
  • Performance Metrics: Monitor team performance metrics, tracking and reporting financial metrics as required.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial) from an ABET-accredited institution/program.
  • Experience: A minimum of 7 years of prior relevant experience, either working directly with an electric utility or an electric utility consulting company, performing electric distribution design engineering.
  • Leadership Experience: Demonstrated experience leading engineering personnel, with a proven track record of success.
  • Technical Knowledge: Proficient knowledge of the National Electric Safety Code (NESC) and comprehension of client construction standards.
  • Project Management: Successful project management experience, including initiate, plan, execute, monitor and control, and closeout.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Software Experience: Experience with software such as PoleForeman, Bentley OpenUtilities Designer, GE Smallworld, Maximo, or similar products.
  • Complex Project Experience: Experience with complex projects in distribution design, including medium voltage switchgear, voltage conversion projects, distribution automation projects.
  • Civil and Electrical Packages: Experience with development of civil and electrical packages associated with complex cable/conduit in dense urban environments.
  • Certifications: PMP certification and/or PE license.
