Automation Controls Technician
Under general guidance, responsible for the design, testing, configuration, and analysis of digital information systems tailored for manufacturing operations aimed at improving safety, quality, delivery, and productivity. Evaluate industrial architectures, implement data collection methodologies, and engage with databases and object-oriented programming languages.
Report to a Regional Service Lead or Team Lead and collaborate with Controls Engineers, Maintenance, Electrical, Mechanical, Controls, and Robotic Technicians to assemble, test, commission, and support production equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proficient in the Ignition SCADA platform
- Skilled in SQL databases and ETL processes
- Develop and troubleshoot PLC code
- Commission industrial networks
- Experience with object-oriented programming languages
- Demonstrate a high level of professionalism and customer service
- Quickly adapt to new technologies
- Conduct thorough problem analysis and provide effective solutions
- Expertise in manufacturing information systems
- Familiarity with network security protocols
- Experience with industrial database management systems
- Commission and resolve issues at customer site installations
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline
- 3-7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Capability to supervise junior technicians
