Position: Market Insights Analyst

The Market Insights team is essential to our operations. As a Market Insights Analyst, your primary responsibility will be to perform comprehensive research and evaluation on organizations, sectors, practice areas, geographic regions, technologies, and competitors utilizing a variety of online research platforms. Your analytical insights will be pivotal in aiding strategic decision-making, driving business growth, enhancing profitability, nurturing client relationships, and identifying new market opportunities. You will thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Continuously monitor and assess the competitive landscape and emerging trends within the legal sector to provide proactive business insights.
  • Deliver both quick reference and detailed research on competitors, clients, prospects, markets, and industries to bolster firm-wide marketing and business development initiatives.
  • Analyze and produce reports using internal business intelligence data on clients, matters, and industries served to reveal trends and opportunities.
  • Synthesize relevant information essential for high-level decision-making and business development, clearly and concisely communicating research findings, with a strong emphasis on written communication.
  • Manage expectations and articulate research findings to various stakeholders within the firm, including the business development team and attorneys, customizing communication to suit diverse audiences.
  • Provide training and support to business development personnel on resources and methodologies to enhance their effectiveness.

Qualifications:

  • Quickly develop proficiency in new information resources; experience with corporate databases such as Westlaw Litigation Analytics, Capital IQ, Manzama, Leopard Solutions, Lexis Nexis, ALM Legal Compass, PitchBook, and Lex Machina is advantageous.
  • Exhibit strong analytical and research capabilities, adept at working with complex databases, and possess advanced skills in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, and SharePoint is a plus.
  • Build relationships with clients, attorneys, internal departments, and vendors while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficient in project management, prioritization, and meeting deadlines.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in business, finance, or marketing; a combination of training, education, and experience demonstrating the ability to perform the job duties will be considered.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in competitive intelligence (CI), preferably within a law firm.
