Job Title: FACT Co-Occurring Disorders Specialist

About the Role:
The Co-Occurring Disorders Specialist on the FACT team works collaboratively with the clinical team to support clients in understanding their substance use disorders and how it impacts their personal goals. This position provides psychoeducation, ASAM assessments, and coordination of treatment referrals, utilizing harm reduction strategies with those who do not have abstinence as a goal.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing direct services to clients, including engagement activities, individual counseling, psychoeducation, and coordinating referrals to the KMHS Pathways team, as well as occasional ASAM assessments.
  • Developing written treatment plans with appropriate interventions to address substance use with the FACT team.
  • Utilizing motivational interviewing and harm reduction models.
  • Helping FACT clients access MAT if eligible.
  • Establishing and maintaining therapeutic relationships while maintaining professional boundaries.
  • Educating clients and their families about the interaction of mental health symptoms and substance use and how it impacts client goals such as housing, jobs, and stability in the community.
  • Documenting all clinical services thoroughly and accurately and submitting all documentation in a timely manner per agency policy and contractual/WAC requirements.
  • Focusing on teamwork, teambuilding, and the maintenance of a positive work atmosphere in order to provide the best treatment for the people we serve.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, social services, or behavioral health field.
  • Experience working with clients with co-occurring mental illness and substance use disorders in outpatient or inpatient substance treatment facilities or psychiatric treatment settings.
  • Eligible for Agency Affiliated Counselor Registration. Current licensure as a Substance Use Disorder Professional.
