Co-Occurring Disorders Specialist

Kitsap Mental Health Services is seeking a skilled Co-Occurring Disorders Specialist to join our FACT team. As a key member of our clinical team, you will work closely with clients to support their recovery from substance use disorders and mental health conditions.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct services to clients, including engagement activities, individual counseling, and coordination of referrals to our Pathways team.
  • Develop written treatment plans with appropriate interventions to address substance use.
  • Utilize motivational interviewing and harm reduction models to support clients in achieving their goals.
  • Help clients access Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) if eligible.
  • Establish and maintain therapeutic relationships while maintaining professional boundaries.
  • Educate clients and their families about the interaction of mental health symptoms and substance use.
  • Document all clinical services thoroughly and accurately.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, social services, or a related field.
  • Experience working with clients with co-occurring mental illness and substance use disorders.
  • Eligible for Agency Affiliated Counselor Registration.
