About the Role

The Project Controls Specialist will be responsible for:

  • Developing cost and schedule baselines for projects.
  • Collecting and analyzing monthly progress data.
  • Analyzing project variances and ensuring risk reserves are updated.
  • Reporting project information to management in standard formats.
  • Supporting the implementation of financial controls and procedures.
  • Interfacing with project teams and management.

Key Responsibilities

The Project Controls Specialist will handle multiple projects and work independently to:

  • Develop and maintain integrated critical path schedules.
  • Develop and document project planning considerations and objectives.
  • Gather project progress information from project managers and team members.
  • Evaluate and update data regarding schedule dates, physical percent complete, and resource requirements.
  • Review schedule progress and productivity of resources.
  • Develop time-phased project cost and resource forecasts.
  • Monitor progress of project deliverables and actual expenditures versus forecasts.
  • Perform performance reporting for a portfolio of projects or programs using Earned Value Management.
  • Prepare non-routine financial reports and documents.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A high school diploma and a minimum of 3-5 years of project controls experience.
  • Intermediate P6 user skills.
  • Intermediate level competency in both schedule and cost control.
  • Intermediate level understanding of project management.
  • Advanced level understanding of Microsoft Office suite.
  • High emotional intelligence and exceptional communication, teamwork, and influencing skills.
  • Government experience and PMP or other applicable certification preferred.
