KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist in the formulation, oversight, and upkeep of project financials and timelines, coordinating team roles as sanctioned by leadership.

Review supervised work with the Senior Project Engineer before finalizing and endorsing design documents or reports.

Guide and support junior engineers under the supervision of the Engineering Group Manager.

Participate in proposal creation.

Engage proactively in business development initiatives for the department, where marketing leads are provided to the client services team, while identifying further opportunities to enhance existing project scopes.

Accountable for the successful execution of designated projects.

Delegate tasks to fellow engineers or technicians.

Meet and communicate with clients to gather direction and offer feedback.

Coordinate with the Project Manager or Engineering Group Manager regarding project processes, progress, challenges, and administrative matters.

Prepare design concepts and formulate project plans and specifications.

Conduct necessary design analyses for projects.

Perform site visits and field assessments as needed.

Prepare design documentation.

Utilize software and spreadsheets for engineering evaluations and presentations.

Edit documentation and understand protocols for data management.

Maintain project records in accordance with company document retention policies.

Changes to the scope of work require Project Manager approval.

Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Comprehensive understanding of engineering principles, theories, and practices relevant to the technical specialty.

Ability to troubleshoot and devise solutions for current tasks.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Highly organized with the capability to prioritize multiple projects.

Demonstrates a sense of urgency in managing time and completing tasks.

Clear comprehension of facility and manufacturing operations.

Ability to collaborate effectively within a team.

Willingness to adapt to flexible schedules and work overtime as required.

Commitment to safety.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited institution.

7-10 years of pertinent engineering experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution is advantageous.

CERTIFICATIONS:
Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in the state of Alabama with the ability to obtain comity in Florida is required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Regularly required to lift/move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds.

Must be capable of walking several miles in extreme weather conditions.

Ability to stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.

Reach with hands and arms.

Communicate verbally and audibly.

Ability to sit, climb/balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Regularly works in varying outdoor weather conditions with potentially high noise levels.

Occasionally works near moving mechanical components and may be exposed to fumes and airborne particles.
